In brief

The Yonex Astrox 88D Tour is a new addition to the Astrox series and is specifically designed for advanced players who want to dominate their game with powerful shots and precise backcourt control. The sleek black and silver design not only gives the racket a modern look but also underscores its performance.

The stiff shaft and head-heavy balance point the Astrox 88D Tour squarely at hitting power and control: the energy goes into the shuttle without detour, but in return it asks for a cleanly timed swing. This racket is ideal for players who rely on powerful smashes and clears to control their game. Thanks to its 4U weight, the racket is also agile enough close to the net, making it a versatile choice for a variety of playing styles.

Astrox 88D or 88S – which one fits your game?

In the video we put the 88D and the 88S head to head.

Tour or Pro?

Both 88D models are head-heavy and have a stiff shaft. The difference is in the frame.

• The Pro has the longer frame and gives very direct feedback.
• The Tour is easier to steer and is kinder to your arm in long doubles.

The Pro is less forgiving of off-centre hits. The Tour takes them in its stride. Go for the Pro if your technique is solid, otherwise the Tour.

Stringing: you choose the string

You pick the string, the colour and the tension, and we string the racket before it ships.

In the video we explain the differences between the string types.
